Introducing Sation: AI-Powered Conversation Coaching

Sation Team
launch announcement

If you’ve ever frozen mid-conversation and wondered why — this is for you. Sation is an AI-powered small talk coaching app that helps you build confidence in everyday conversations.

The Problem

Most people know what to say but freeze in the moment. Social anxiety affects approximately 12% of adults, and awkward small talk is nearly universal. Public speaking apps train you for a stage. Language apps train you for a syllabus. Neither one trains you for the moment you’re standing in a kitchen at a party trying to think of something to say.

Our Approach

Sation combines three steps that feed into each other:

1. Practice

Have voice conversations with AI characters in realistic scenarios — first dates, networking events, house parties, coffee shops. The AI adapts dynamically, it’s not a script.

2. Review

Get scored on two dimensions:

  • Delivery: Pace (WPM), pause patterns, filler words, response latency
  • Connection: Curiosity, empathy, balance (talk-to-listen ratio), flow, presence

3. Apply

Receive micro-challenges to try IRL — 30-second tasks like “ask a colleague a follow-up question” or “compliment someone specific.”

Why Voice-First?

The whole point is practising the thing that’s hard — thinking and speaking simultaneously under social pressure. Text mode defeats the purpose. Our on-device speech recognition (Whisper) means audio never leaves your device — only text transcriptions are sent for scoring.

What’s Next

At launch, you’ll be able to practice across four scenario packs — Social Basics, Making Friends, Dating, and Professional — with full delivery and connection scoring, progress tracking, and recurring AI characters who carry details forward between sessions.

We’re also working on real-time nudges that coach you during a conversation. More on that soon.
